It has sewn end terminations and plastic thimble eyes making it durable and lightweight. On the left is our adjustable restraint lanyard with screw gate karabiners (available in 1mtr, 1.6mtr and 2mtr lengths). Here are a few lanyards that we would recommend for use on a cherry picker: Before choosing fall restraint equipment for your cherry picker, make sure you've carried out a full risk assessment. The lanyard keeps you restrained within the cherry picker basket at all times while still allowing enough room to move around and work as necessary. It's recommended that you wear a harness so that a short or adjustable lanyard can connect you to the designated harness attachment point within the cherry picker basket. It has 3 casters welded to the bottom, (swivel castor on the boom ) for easy hookup and storage.Īlso made a quick drawbar so I didn't have to poke a hole in the fork. When working at height on a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) like a cherry picker, it's important to wear the right kind of fall protection equipment to keep you safely restrained within the basket.Ĭherry pickers are a type of MEWP that can be moved in all directions to provide access to hard-to-reach places. It is made of rectangular tubing about 8 foot long, chain hook underneath and a receiver hitch welded to the end on top of the tubing. A hole cut in the fork allows a pin to hold it in place. I just used a piece of 3x5x1/2" tubing with a D ring welded underneath and three 3/8" hooks welded to a piece of 1/2" plate welded to the front. I put this together last fall but need to get around to building a better boom. Cherrypicker would be a piece of cake- it's already steel, take the wheels off and weld to the tubing (or just add tubing and leave the wheels on ). Just make sure you make a "keeper" of some kind to keep the gizmo from sliding off. Just start out with a couple pieces of rectangular tubing and weld stuff on. I don't have any pics of mine handy, but I've built a "drawbar" for moving stuff around: hydraulic grapple for picking up limbs brush and logs hydraulic treepuller and a platform, and all slide onto my fork attachment on the loader tractor. Was thinking of a small cherry picking arm and something to put a ball on to move things around. ( logon | register )įorklift attachments Jump to page : 1 Now viewing page 1
